They are a fully integrated specialty distributor and patient support provider for pharmaceutical manufacturers, physicians and their patients. They partner with clients to design and deliver service innovative support programs. They have an immediate need for Pharmacy Technicians responsible for accurately performing aseptic compounding, inspection, and packaging of compounded products. Primary duties and responsibilitiesAccurate processing of prescriptions, including data entry of prescriptions, scheduling refills, picking/labelling/packaging of medications, technical release of prescription, and preparing prescriptions/orders for deliveryMaintaining accurate drug inventory including purchasing and receiving medications and supply items, checking expiration dates, and performing scheduled inventory countsProvide exemplary customer service to patients, physicians/health care professionals and medical clinic staff, primarily by phone/emailAdherence to all relevant guidelines including the established Standard Operating procedures and all applicable regulatory requirements as set out by the Ontario College of PharmacistsEnsure safe and appropriate storage of medications, including ambient and cold chain productsActively contribute to the ongoing review of policies and procedures as they pertain to pharmacy operationsProcessing account payments and account receivable statementsProactively problem solve third party insurance issues to ensure timely processing of prescription claimsMonitoring of fridge temperatures and reporting any variances directly to the Director Pharmacy OperationsPerform cleanroom activities including worksheet preparation, compounding, inspection, labelling and packaging of sterile preparations, maintaining the cleanroom and its equipment, cleaning/disinfection of cleanroom materials, and performing environmental monitoring duties while strictly adhering to cleanroom standard operating procedures Minimum qualificationsRegistered (or eligible for registration) as a Pharmacy Technician with the Ontario College of Pharmacists,Successful completion of a CCAPP accredited Pharmacy Technician post-secondary diploma programPrevious experience working in a pharmacy settingProficiency with Kroll pharmacy systemsExperience in the specialty pharmacy or sterile compounding is an assetKnowledge of third-party insurance plans and pharmacy special authorization proceduresStrong verbal and written communication skills in English required.
