Language Proficiency Requirements for Pharmacists

 

 

International pharmacy graduates who submit objective evidence to demonstrate their language proficiency must meet the minimum acceptable scores for one of the objective tests listed below as set by NAPRA and within the standard error of measurement (SEM) where indicated.

The College only accepts test score reports sent directly from the testing institution.

 

 

ENGLISH TESTS

 

– Internet-based test
  • Speaking: 27 (SEM: 2)

  • Writing: 25 (SEM: 3)

  • Reading: Required; No minimum score set

  • Listening: Required; No minimum score set

  • TOTAL: 97 (SEM: 5)

– Paper-based test
  • Test of Written English (TWE): 5 (SEM: 0.3)

  • Test of Spoken English (TSE): 50

  • TOTAL: 580 (SEM 14)

  • Written composition: 82 (SEM: 3)

  • Listening comprehension: Required; No minimum score set.

  • Grammar, cloze, reading, vocabulary, comprehension: Required; No

  • minimum score set.

  • Oral component: 3+

  • TOTAL: 85 (SEM: 3)

– Academic format
  • Speaking: 6 (SEM: 0.5)

  • Writing: 6 (SEM: 0.5)

  • Reading: 6 (SEM: 0.4)

  • Listening: 6 (SEM: 0.4)

  • OVERALL BAND: 7 (SEM: 0.5)

  • Speaking: 4.5

  • Writing: 4.5

  • Reading: 4.5

  • Listening: 4.5

FRENCH TEST

 

  • Listening : 4.5

  • Speaking: 4.5

  • Reading: 4.5

  • Writing: 4.5
